| first derivative which is the plot of the slope of the curve is showing the spikes because Jim plotted the points on the RPM axis. Therfore, in theory (if this is true), Jim would have to plot the first derivative of the quadriatic equation ( not the points of intersection of the curve ). right ? ( excuse any spelling ~ I am typing while on a conferece call at work :)
